The Charing Cross Theatre has been home to smaller, quirky and newer musicals in London. 2019 sees no change for the theatre, as they welcome a UK premiere onto the stage. Written by one of the creators of Caroline, or Change comes Violet, an emotional musical with a good heart at the core. Having taken the New York theatre scene by storm, it’s likely to do the same thing in London. So, if you want to see a brand new musical and enjoy a night away from the biggest West End crowds, then you’ll want to book your tickets for Violet.

During the show, you’ll meet Violet. A young woman, she’s travelling across the United States in order to undergo surgery for her facial disfigurements that she has suffered from since she was a child. Between North Carolina and Oklahoma, she hopes the surgery will bring a miracle and embarks upon a life-changing personal journey in her quest, with public reactions inspiring every move she makes.

Working with Umeda Arts Theatre from Osaka, Japan, Violet is set to be a thought-provoking show which audiences wont’ forget in a hurry. So, journey on with Violet to find out moer about yourself too in this heartwarming show.

Did you know?

The cast for Violet includes Kaisa Hammarlund as Violet, with Madeleine Sellman playing the character in her younger days.

Violet played at an Off-Broadway theatre in 1997, before receiving its Broadway premiere in 2014, starring Sutton Foster.

Violet is based on “The Ugliest Pilgrim”, a book by Doris Betts.
