Bringing a slice of old-time Hollywood glamour to the West End, All About Eve will welcome audiences into the showbiz world when it opens at the Noël Coward Theatre in 2019. As a world premiere, there is a great amount of excitement building around the show, helped with a stellar casting as well as being directed by world-renowned director Ivo van Hove. So, if you’re wanting to see a fresh production and see your favourite stars on stage, then All About Eve is a production you’ll need to book tickets for.

Based on a 1950 film of the same name, All About Eve opens with Margo Channing, a Broadway starlet who has enjoyed a long, unchallenged career on stage. With her 40th birthday approaching, Margo is worried that she won’t be cast for any more productions, however she is still loved by doting audiences. In particular, Eve Harrington is besotted by every performance that Margo makes, leading Eve to knock on Margo’s stage door. As the pair talk, Margo entrusts Eve with being her assistant.

New to the Hollywood way of life, Eve does everything she can for Margo in order to boost her status. But when the chance of a lifetime to understudy Margo lands on Eve’s lap, Eve uses this as her chance to make it big in showbusiness.

Underscored with music by award-winning artist PJ Harvey, All About Eve will capture the essence of 20th century Hollywood as performers try to get their name in lights at all costs. Reminisce on decades gone by and enjoy the brand new spin on the story which is one of many productions to receive a film-turned-stage adaptation across the West End. If you want to know what it takes to succeed in theatre, then you’ll want to see All About Eve.

The cast of All About Eve is led by Gillian Anderson and Lily James, who are set to enthrall audiences as Margo Channing and Eve Harrington respectively.

Gillian Anderson last performed in the West End in 2014, playing Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire.

Lily James last took to a West End stage in 2016 as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, but has more recently played young Donna Sheridan in the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Gillian Anderson and Lily James are joined by a cast including Monica Dolan, Ian Drysdale, Tsion Habte, Charles Hagerty, Sheila Reid, Grace Stone, Rhashan Stone, Stanley Townsend and Philip Voyzey.

All About Eve is not the first time the film has been the muse for a stage production. Applause is a Broadway musical which opened in New York, which went on to win a Tony Award for best new musical.

The film features some of the most recognisable quotes in all films. As you watch the production, listen out for exciting quotes from the film including “I am nobody's fool. Least of all, yours” and “fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night”.
