Awful Auntie

Over the years we have enjoyed a range of children’s shows in London, with productions appearing in the West End and beyond to entertain families and youngsters alike. Throughout the summer and Christmas seasons these give younger crowds the opportunity to experience the theatre and enjoy a wonderful experience.

David Walliams’ stories are amongst the stories to make their way to the stage, with the likes of Gangsta Granny delighting audiences in the West End.

But it is not his only story that producers have adapted for the theatre, with Awful Auntie set for a run at the Bloomsbury Theatre this Christmas as part of its UK tour.

David Walliams’ Awful Auntie focuses on the character of Stella Saxby and her aunt, the latter of whom is lying and deceiving her way into denying Stella of her inheritance. Stella has recently lost her parents and to Aunt Alberta this might be the best time to attempt to find their riches, pitting her and her oversized Owl Wagner against poor Stella for the prize of Saxby Hall.

Walliams’ 2014 story has everything you might need for a great time at the theatre, with memorable characters and a wonderful plot, providing an unforgettable experience. But then we would expect no less from the author of some great children’s books that have put smiles on the faces of kids around the country.

So make sure you catch David Walliams’ Awful Auntie when it runs at the Bloomsbury Theatre from Wednesday 12th December 2018.
