Lonely Planet

Introducing us to characters struggling in 1980s gay community in America, Steven Dietz’s play Lonely Planet continues to make an impression at the Trafalgar Studios 2. With Ian Brown directing and both Alexander McMorran and Aaron Vodovoz portraying Jody and Carl, it offers a poignant story and stand-out performances.

That story deals with the AIDS crisis in the 1980s and explores the problems faced by the generation before the information age. With the stigma associated with the virus, the prospects that it creates and the loneliness that it bestows, friends Jody and Carl struggle through it all.

Performer Alexander McMorran has amassed many credits in London and beyond and so comes to Trafalgar Studio with plenty of experience under his belt. His work includes Great Again for the Vault Festival, The Commitments on a UK tour, Romeo & Juliet at the New Wimbledon Studio, A Christmas Carol at the Old Red Lion, and Pacific Overtures at the Union Theatre, amongst many others.

Lonely Planet continues to impress at Trafalgar Studios 2 on Whitehall. It runs at the West End venue for performances up to Saturday 7th July 2018.
