Miss Havisham's Expectations

Trafalgar Studios 2 welcomes a Double Bill that will intrigue fans of Charles Dickens across the capital. One of the productions making up this double bill is Miss Havisham’s Expectations, a show that will offer a different perspective on Dickens’ Great Expectations.

The show appears alongside Sikes & Nancy, which is based on readings by Dickens, and together they offer an unbeatable opportunity for fans of the renowned writer to explore his work in a new way.

For Miss Havisham’s Expectations Linda Marlowe takes on the role of Miss Norma Havisham herself in a piece that draws from Great Expectations, Dickens’ life and new work from Di Sherlock. As a result we see her side of the classic tale and we are invited to see the text in a new light.

Marlowe has appeared in a wealth of television shows during her career, from Doctors to The Guilty, plus the movie Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. However, this is not the first time that London theatre audiences have experienced her work, with previous appearances in shows going back to the 80s, from recent shows such as Berkoff’s Women at the St James Theatre and Goodbye To All That at the Royal Court Theatre to older productions like A Flea In Her Ear at the Old Vic.

The unmbissable Miss Havisham’s Expectations appears at Trafalgar Studios 2 (as part of a double bill with Sikes & Nancy with James Swanton) from Friday 12th December 2014 (previews from Tuesday 9th December 2014).
