Arthur Miller plays are regularly brought to theatres across London. Dramatising real life situations into some of the best known plays of the 20th century, now’s your chance to see an Arthur Miller play brought to life at The American Clock. Capitalism, classes and the importance of the American Dream are all at the centre of this hard-hitting tale, where money is at the root. So, if you want to see an important play in American literature, as well as learn about America, then you’ll want to book your tickets for The American Clock.

Even though the play harks from the ‘80s, The American Clock is set at the end of the Roaring Twenties when America is about to suffer the worst economic crash in the country’s history. At the start, you’ll meet the Baum family, a family who seem to have everything. But when the stocks fall and the Great Depression sets in, the economic hardship teaches the family a lesson that not everything is all about money.

The American Clock is not the only Arthur Miller play to be performed in 2019. All My Sons will be at the Old Vic later in the year, as well as The Price at Wyndham’s Theatre and a performance of Death of a Salesman, with an unannounced date. But, don’t let the ticking clock distract you from The American Clock. With its powerful messages of money and hope, you’ll find yourself leaving the theatre a different person.
