Jonathan Pryce and Eileen Atkins star in the new play from acclaimed writer Florian Zeller at the Wyndham’s Theatre.

Over the years we have been spoilt with an array of high quality productions from Florian Zeller, whose work often appears in the West End through the translations of Christopher Hampton. From The Father to The Truth, his work has captured the attentions of audiences and made him one into one of the most exciting voices in modern theatre.

With that in mind all eyes are now on the Wyndham’s Theatre, where his latest play The Height Of The Storm  (once again translated by Hampton) is set to open its doors this October. Boasting an impressive cast that includes both Jonathan Pryce and Dame Eileen Atkins, it will be a force to be reckoned when it appears under the direction of Jonathan Kent.

The story itself centres on André and Madeleine, the characters played by Price and Atkins, who face great turmoil despite 50 years in a relationship together. During one particular weekend an unexpected gift and visitor rock their world and create conflict both inside and out.

Fans of Zeller’s work will be right at home with The Height Of The Storm as it progresses through its captivating narrative, particularly with the presence of such big acting talent as well.

After all, Jonathan Pryce is a familiar face, not only for work on the screen (such as the Pirates Of The Caribbean film series and Tomorrow Never Dies), but also for stage work in the West End and on Broadway. Likewise, Eileen Atkins has also appeared in productions on both sides of the Atlantic, such as The Witch Of Edmonton at the Swan Theatre in 2014, and will provide another familiar face thanks to work in The Crown and Paddington 2, amongst others.

So both will bring a lot to the characters of André and Madeleine when this production appears at the Wyndham’s Theatre. The show also heads out on a UK tour prior to the West End run, taking it to Richmond, Cambridge and Bath from September.

The Height Of The Storm then runs at the Wyndham’s Theatre from Tuesday 9th October 2018 (previews from Tuesday 2nd October 2018).
