An insightful look into the AIDS epidemic that affected the lives of many doesn’t have to be learned about in a textbook. First opening at the Young Vic Theatre, The Inheritance tells the lives of young men who live in New York a generation after the AIDS crisis. Intersecting the lives of the New York community into a West End audience may not seem like the cheeriest of productions, however its ability to delve into the importance of the crisis has produced an alluring show, hailed as the “most important American play” of the 21st century. So, if you want to see a show that’s got everyone talking, then you’ll want to see The Inheritance.

Deep in New York City, The Inheritance opens up on the consequences of previous generations living with AIDS. Learn more about Eric, Adam and all the characters whose stories are told throughout the play, which shows how different people in society unite through trying to help each other.  The Inheritance brings together groups from different parts of society that are united by the AIDS epidemic that affected those before them.

Winning best play at the 2018 Evening Standard Awards, it’s clear that The Inheritance stands out from amongst the rest. See a group of gay men struggle to connect to the past and maintain a sense of history at The Inheritance.
