Henry James’ iconic novella is brought to the stage via the wonderful retelling by Benjamin Britten. It appears at the Open Air Theatre as part of the Regent’s Park venue’s summer season, which will see Timothy Sheader direct this unmissable opera.

A classic tale of evil and ghostly incidents in a country home, The Turn Of The Screw has found a wide audience since it was first published back in 1898 and was given a new lease of life in 1954 when Benjamin Britten adapted it into this well known opera, which is now one of its more famous adaptations of the 20th century.

The show appears in a fantastic year for the Open Air Theatre, which also welcomes the likes of Dinosaurs Live and Little Shop Of Horrors amongst its host of shows. But Turn Of the Screw will stand-out as an operative piece led by the English National Opera, featuring its orchestra and presenting a must-see classic in the heart of London.

And as it boasts a director in Timothy Sheader, the Open Air Theatre’s Artistic Director, audiences know that they will be in for a treat.

The Turn Of The Screw runs at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from Friday 22nd June 2018.
