See the voyages of HMS Beagle beautifully recreated for a stage production, playing at the Jerwood Gallery inside the Natural History Museum. Combining theatre, history and science in one, The Wider Earth is a one-of-a-kind spectacular that simply can’t be missed. So, evolve your theatrical knowledge and check out The Wider Earth.

When you walk inside the purpose built theatre, it will already feel as though you are journeying into the unknown. As the show starts, you’ll meet Charles Darwin, a doting explorer who travels to the other side of the world, making important scientific discoveries on his travels.

During the show, you’ll visit the Andes, the Amazon rainforest, Tierra del Fuego, and the Galapagos Islands. Let your mind grow curious at the Darwinian findings and conclusions, as the animals are brought to life with puppetry that really get at the then-uncharted landscapes he trekked across.

The Wider Earth is an epic coming-of-age story that will teach you more about HMS Beagle than you could ever think. Accompanied by an ambient score, an intricately designed set, a series of dazzling animations and illustrations, and a multitude of astonishing puppets that bring to life the animals Darwin met on his journey, don’t miss your chance to see The Wider Earth at the Natural History Museum.
