Tory Boyz

The National Youth Theatre presents a season of shows at the Ambassadors Theatre in the autumn and the productions they will showcase include a Shakespearean classic and a prequel story to another of the Bard’s hits. Meanwhile, audiences that pick up theatre tickets will be in for a treat when they get a chance to revisit the 2008 hit Tory Boyz, which is also being presented as part of the season.

The popular political comedy, which goes behind the scenes at Westminster and focuses on the attempts at avoiding crises and scandals, was penned by James Graham and first appeared at the Soho Theatre in 2008. It was one of many hit productions to be penned by the British writer, whose work also includes This House at the Cottesloe National Theatre in 2012 (revived at the Olivier National Theatre this year), Sixty Six Books & The Whisky Taster, both at the Bush Theatre and Sons Of York at the Finborough Theatre, among others.

With this production of Tory Boyz, however, you will be able to witness the show as performed by the National Youth Theatre, with a director in Thomas Hescott and a cast that includes company members such as Tom Prior, Anna Spearpoint, Aruhan Galieva and Zainab Hasan, among others. Such actors also appear in the season’s productions of Romeo & Juliet and Prince Of Denmark (the mentioned prequel to Shakespeare’s hit Hamlet).

Tory Boyz runs at the Ambassadors Theatre from Tuesday 24th September 2013.
