The building opened in 1972 and was considered to be built as a ‘large Broadway theatre’ accommodating for over 1,000 patrons at each performance. In 1983, the venue was renamed to commemorate the American composer, George Gershwin.

There is no dress code for performances at the Majestic Theatre. Latecomers are allowed in dependent on their seating. Latecomers who are seated in the Front Orchestra are held until 20 minutes into the performance.

Looking for refreshments at the Gershwin Theatre? There are four bars inside, with two bars on the second floor and two on the fourth floor. Water is the only drink allowed inside the auditorium.
