The Hudson Theatre opened in 1903 and is one of the oldest theatres on Broadway. With a line-up of Broadway stars including Douglas Fairbanks and Helen Hayes starring in productions at the theatre, the Hudson has enjoyed a glittering century of theatre.

In 1956, the first episode of The Tonight Show was broadcast live from the Hudson Theatre, and was being granted landmark status in the 1980s.

There is no dress code for performances at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Latecomers are allowed in convenient seat locations at the discretion of management.
