Bridget Jones musical to contain Lily Allen tracks
Set to open next year, the show, which will follow the life of everyone's favourite singleton in her quest for love, is set to feature several tunes written by the star.
It will be the first time that the story has hit the stage, after the novels by Helen Fielding were given the film treatment in two movies staring Renee Zellweger in the lead role.
Speaking to the Mirror, Lily, who has recently announced that she is to retire from the music industry, said that she has now had ten songs accepted for the show.
The 24-year-old said: "I'm hugely proud of this and it's something I've worked really bloody hard on.
"Being recognised as a songwriter and lyricist truly excites me."
Lily has recently been commended for her song writing skills when she received an Ivor Novello award for her track The Fear.
