Consent - Harold Pinter Theatre

Big news for the Harold Pinter Theatre today as it is revealed that Consent, Nina Raine’s examination of the legal issues concerning that very word, will be transferring to the West End venue from the National Theatre. The production will bring Claudie Blakley and Stephen Campbell Moore to the venue this May, with audiences witnessing Roger Mitchell’s direction.

Meanwhile, according to London theatre Guide, Cirque Berserk! will also head to the venue in April. The show, created by Mark Burton (Zippo The Clown), has previously appeared in the capital and will now entertain audiences in the centre of the West End.

Consent focuses on two friends who find themselves on different sides of a controversial rape case, forcing them to confront their own views and preconceptions head-on. Its run at the Dorfman National Theatre brought eager theatregoers to the South Bank venue and it has clearly resonated with those audiences, leading to this anticipated West End transfer.

Audiences might find they recognise some of the performers working under the direction of Roger Mitchell, with Stephen Campbell Moore previously part of the cast of The History Boys at the Lyttelton National Theatre (in addition to worldwide locations). He has also appeared in shows like Clybourne Park at the Wyndham’s Theatre and performed alongside Nicole Kidman in Photograph 51 at the Noël Coward Theatre. In addition to those stage roles he has also made his way to the screen in Goodbye Christopher Robin, Johnny English Reborn and The Bank Job, amongst others.

In addition to Campbell Moore and Claudie Blakley, Consent will also star Heather Craney and Adam James when it runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre from Tuesday 29th May 2018 (previews from Friday 18th May 2018) to Saturday 11th August 2018.

Cirque Berserk! meanwhile, has plenty of death-defying and spectacular stunts on offer during its runtime, and is sure to provide a change-of-pace for the Harold Pinter Theatre.  It previously ran at the Peacock Theatre, according to London Theatre Guide, and this ensures there are plenty of fans eager for its latest spin in the West End.

Cirque Berserk runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre from Thursday 19th April 2018 to Monday 7th May 2018.
