Could Bruno Mars gig feature number one single?

Wednesday, 12th Jan 2011

Music fans heading to a Bruno Mars gig in the coming months may be treated to a rendition of a number one single if recent reports are to be believed.

Gigwise claimed Mars's new track Grenade is outselling Do It Like A Dude by Jessie J and could knock Rihanna off the top spot.

The music website predicted that if sales continue the way they are going, the Hawaiian-born singer could reach number one in the UK singles chart.

According to the Metro, the song is "stirringly catchy", which suggests it could be one of the highlights of his upcoming pop concerts.

Among the 25-year-old's other major works to date are collaborations with BOB, Cee-Lo Green and Travis McCoy, although whether any of his fellow vocalists will make an appearance during the tour is open to debate.

Mars released his debut album - Doo-Wops and Hooligans - in September 2010, which includes the singles Just The Way You Are and Grenade.
