Snow White - London Palladium

Summer is gradually making its presence known so audiences are unlikely to be thinking of the winter season. But that doesn’t mean that West End producers aren’t making plans for their upcoming shows and with that in mind we have got word on the names set to join the London Palladium’s Christmas pantomime for 2018.

Dawn French is amongst the names associated with this year’s production of Snow White, starring alongside names like Josh Bennett, Flavia Cacace-Mistry, Julian Clary, Simeon Dyer, Nigel Havers, Craig Garner, Ben Goffe, Jamie John, Blake Lisle, Andrew Martin, Vincent Simone, Paul Wilmot and Paul Zerdin.

The classic tale of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs (the latter known as The Magnificent Seven for this production), runs from early December 2018 to mid January 2019, with audiences getting their familiar dose of humour, songs and pop culture references, the staple of the pantomime season.

But the presence of Dawn French is bound to attract considerable attention. She has previously appeared in the West End in numerous shows and comedy performances, including 2015’s solo show 30 Million Minutes at the Vaudeville Theatre. Her other credits include French & Saunders: Still Alive at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2008, The Duchesse de Crackentorp at the Royal Opera House, Smaller at the Lyric Theatre and La Fille du Regiment at the Royal Opera House.

She is best known for her comic partnership with Jennifer Saunders, with whom she emerged during the alternative comedy boom in the 1980s, and for starring in the hit sitcom The Vicar Of Dibley.

The London Palladium regularly welcomes a pantomime during the Christmas season. Last year it was a production of Dick Whittington and the year before that it was Cinderella. It is known for attracting top celebrity talent and is arguably one of the most famous pantomimes in the country.

And this year it is the turn of Snow White to make an impression as the classic pantomime returns to the London Palladium with a run beginning on Saturday 8th December 2018 and continuing to Sunday 13th January 2019.
