Les Miserables - Queen's Theatre

Last week it was the news that Wicked would soon be getting a new cast, with David Witts amongst those joining the production from July, and now we turn our attentions to another part of the West End to Shaftesbury Avenue, where Les Misérables continues its record-breaking run at the Queen’s Theatre.

It too will be gaining new cast members this summer, with a range of performers joining the cast in June, followed by Bradley Jaden in July. The latter will be familiar to those who followed last week’s Wicked news as he is the outgoing Fiyero, soon to be replaced by the mentioned David Witts.

Meanwhile, Dean Chisnall is set to be the new Jean Valjean, meaning that audiences will see a new face in the lead role.

Les Misérables is arguably the most epic production in the capital, taking audiences on an odyssey that spans decades during the turn of the 19th century in France. Jean Valjean is a former convict who struggles to return to society and is then caught stealing, leading to a cat-and-mouse fight to survive as he is tracked by the ruthless Inspector Javert (Bradley Jaden from July).

Dean Chisnall has previously appeared in a wealth of West End stages shows, taking on some well known characters from high profile musicals, including Shrek in Shrek The Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Working at the Southwark Playhouse, La Cage Aux Folles at the Playhouse Theatre, Love Never Dies at the Adelphi Theatre and Never Forget at the Savoy Theatre. He has also appeared in other familiar shows beyond the West End, like Mamma Mia in Cyprus, Shrek The Musical on a UK tour and Blood Brothers on UK tours.

Further new cast members include Toby Miles, Amara Okereke, Vivien Parry and Elena Skye.

Les Miserables is currently booking at the Queen’s Theatre to Saturday 2nd March 2019. Much of the new cast joins on Monday 11th June 2018, whilst Bradley Jaden begins performances as Javert on Monday 23rd July 2018.
