Evita

After entertaining audiences at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre earlier this year, Evita will return to the Barbican for a limited engagement next summer, it has been announced.

The musical will play at the Barbican from 27th June to 22nd August as part of the Barbican’s newest season which has also been announced.

Evita dramatises the life and career of Eva Peron, an Argentinian who rises to become a political icon in her home country. Written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, the musical features songs including ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ and ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall’.

Evita is directed by Jamie Lloyd, who is also directing Cyrano de Bergerac at the Playhouse Theatre.
