Peacock Theatre

The last few weeks have seen an array of shows announced for 2019, with the most recent being the revelation that Mary Poppins is returning to the West End next autumn, and this news continues to trickle in as Fame The Musical is set to make its way to the Peacock Theatre.

The iconic musical, first seen in the 1980s, continues to tour the UK in 2019 and as part of this venture to the country’s regional theatres it will also stop-off at the West End outlet for Sadler’s Wells, regularly the home to some of the world’s biggest stars of international dance.

Fame tells the story of young performers with dreams of stardom, with the musical following them in their bids to reach the spotlight as they study at a New York school of performing arts. They face all of the pressures of success and the distractions that can take them off-course, with dance routines and memorable songs along the way.
Those musical numbers include the likes of Let’s Play A Love Scene, Bring On Tomorrow, Teacher’s Argument, Hard Work and Fame, amongst many others.

Fame is celebrating its 30th anniversary at the moment, with the first production appearing back in 1988, and it means that this will be a great opportunity for fans to join the party. From wonderful performances to award-winning songs, it has regularly managed to attract an eager crowd, which will undoubtedly continue with it runs at the Peacock Theatre.

The Peacock Theatre is situated near Holborn station in London’s West End and usually attracts high profile dance and performing arts shows (much like its sister venue Sadler’s Wells). It is currently the home of Programme B by Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, with shows like Tap Dogs and the annual The Snowman on the horizon in the months ahead.

Audiences will eventually get to witness Fame The Musical when it opens at the Peacock Theatre in late 2019. Its run begins on Wednesday 11th September 2019 and then continues to Saturday 19th October 2019.
