Frozen the Musical to head to the West End

Tuesday, 19th Mar 2019

Delighting audiences on Broadway, it has been announced that Frozen will transfer to the West End, opening at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane next year.

First released in cinemas in 2013, Frozen went on to become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, making over $2 billion at the box office. After the movie’s success, the stage adaptation of Frozen was finally performed on Broadway in 2018, after a pre-Broadway tryout at the Buell Theatre in Denver, Colorado.

The musical will feature the award-winning Disney anthem “Let It Go”, as performed by Idina Menzel in the film, written by Kristin Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The pair lend their musical talents to the stage adaptation, writing new songs including “Hygge” and “Monster”, as well as Frozen classics including “For The First Time in Forever” and “Fixer Upper”.

The production will be staged at the newly refurbished Theatre Royal Drury Lane, currently closed for renovation works.

Frozen will open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in autumn 2020, with casting, performance schedule and a date for tickets to go on sale to be announced.
