Hayley Atwell and Tom Burke cast in new production of Rosmersholm by Henrik Ibsen

Friday, 1st Feb 2019

The Duke of York’s Theatre will be home to an upcoming production of Rosmersholm. Written by Henrik Ibsen, whose famous works include A Doll’s House and The Wild Duck, Rosmersholm looks at a country in a state of political tension and potential collapse, as John Rosmer decides on the future of the nation based on his past.

Rosmersholm is an adaptation by Duncan Macmillian, who has used Ibsen’s story to create a brand new production.

Tom Burke will play the role of John Rosmer, who is best known for starring in Strike, a BBC television series adapted from the Cormoran Strike novels by JK Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Burke is joined by Hayley Atwell, who was recently on stage in Measure for Measure at the Donmar Warehouse. She has gained a legion of fans after playing Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Further casting for Rosmersholm will be announced soon.

Rosmersholm will open at the Duke of York’s Theatre on 24th April.

Tickets for Rosmersholm are not yet on sale.
