Foxfinder - Ambassadors Theatre

We’ve known for some time that Foxfinder, Dawn King’s play that originally appeared at the Finborough Theatre, would be making its way to the Ambassadors Theatre in September. Since that initial announcement, however, we have slowly been building up a picture of how the show will appear as more and more names have been added to the cast.

Today it is the name Heida Reed as the television performer is set to join the cast when it opens in the West End in September.

Foxfinder follows the character of William Bloor, played by the previously announced Iwan Rheon, who is a man with the title profession, employed to investigate the contamination of a farm run by Sam and Judith Covey. But matters soon escalate, with Bloor’s obsessive sense of duty taking over and the governments questions regarding low harvest yield threatening to tear everything apart even before further questions arise.

The casting of Heida Reed ensures there’s another familiar face headed to the Ambassadors Theatre in September on top of the previously revealed Iwan Rhean. Reed’s credits include a range of film, television and theatrical roles with examples like One Day on the big screen, Silent Witness and Poldark on the small screen, plus plays like Scarlet at the Southwark Playhouse and Top Girls at the Trafalgar Studios. So it is easy to see why producers looked upon her talents when it came to casting for this latest West End show.

The Ambassadors Theatre is currently the home of Pressure, David Haig’s acclaimed thriller set during the Second World War. The show is set to end at the beginning of September with producers recently sending out a press release in a final push to encourage theatregoers to see it before it’s too late.

It tells the story of Group Captain James Stagg, the meteorologist who advises General Eisenhower prior to the D-Day Landings. Tasked with convincing the general to call the landings off due to bad weather, he finds himself at war with other advisers ahead of a critical point in history.

The production ends on Saturday 1st September 2018, with Foxfinder then opening its doors at the Ambassadors Theatre on Thursday 6th September 2018.
