Ian Dury musical Hit Me! reaches those with London theatre tickets

Wednesday, 21st Jul 2010

Fans of Ian Dury will have to move fast to grab theatre tickets to a show based on his life.

Set to hit the Garrick Theatre in September, the Hit Me! The Life And Rhymes Of Ian Dury will run for three days from 9th to the 11th as part of its current UK tour.

It is the second time the show, which follows the life of the Blockheads singer from his childhood spent in a home for disabled children after contracting polio through to his life as a rock singer, has toured the UK.

Starring Mark White in the lead role and Josh Darcy as Fred 'Spider' Rowe, it is set to begin its tour at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.

As it is a celebration of the life of a musician, it would not be right to omit his work and fans can enjoy hearing tracks like Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick and Reasons To Be Cheerful performed live by the cast.
