Broadway Performing Replacing Kerry Ellis in the Hit Production in London’s West End

The last time that Wicked was in the news, apart from announcements of booking extensions, was in July when it was revealed that Kerry Ellis would be returning to the role of Elphaba for a short run of performances in the summer. It was an exciting announcement and now it is followed-up with an equally as enticing revelation for the months to come.

Jennifer DiNoia, who has been an understudy in the role of Elphaba on the other side of the Atlantic, will step into the role at the Apollo Victoria Theatre from October to January, joining cast members like Savannah Stevenson (Glinda the Good Witch), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero), Martyn Ellis (The Wizard Of Oz), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose) and Sam Lupton (Boq).

Meanwhile, the new announcement of DiNoia as Elphaba coincides with new performers taking on the roles of Doctor Dillamond (Philip Childs from late October) and Madame Morrible (Liza Sadovy from late October).

Wicked introduces us to two rivals at school. One is beautiful and popular, whilst the other has book smarts but is cursed with emerald green skin. This playground rivalry, however, is one that eventually spills out into the wider world and threatens all of Oz as one becomes Glinda the Good Witch and the other Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West.

Jennifer DiNoia will be making her West End debut with the production, having made a name for herself with numerous productions on the other side of the Atlantic. Her credits include Mamma Mia! on a US national tour, We Will Rock You in Las Vegas, plus Wicked in Chicago and New York as understudy and performer. She has also appeared in production in other countries worldwide.

Wicked has been running at the Apollo Victoria Theatre since 2006 and has become one of the West End’s most popular modern musicals alongside Billy Elliot The Musical and Mamma Mia! It continues at the venue after eight years and, thanks to a recent extension, is booking at the venue for dates until Tuesday 1st September 2015.

Meanwhile, the new cast members take over their respective roles from Monday 27th October 2014.
