Friday, 29th Oct 2010

Jodie Prenger is to return to the West End stage in the role that made her famous - Nancy in Oliver!.

The performer, who won the role after appearing in the BBC One show I'd Do Anything, is to play the part again on November 13th 2010 in the matinee and evening productions, Official London Theatre has reported.

Kerry Ellis, the actress currently in the role, is set to appear at the Royal Albert Hall that day as part of the Festival of Remembrance concert, leaving the part available for Prenger to fill.

She starred in as Nancy when the musical based on the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist was revived in January 2009 until the beginning of this year, leaving to take on the part of the Lady of the Lake in the touring production of Spamalot.

The play is set to run at the Drury Lane Theatre until January 8th 2011, when it will be replaced by Shrek the Musical, starring Nigel Lindsay in the lead role and Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona.
