The High Profile Play Returns to the Capital Following Its Previous West End Run at the Duke of York’s Theatre

Whilst recent days have seen some big announcements for the West End, including the arrival of a Harry Potter play at the Palace Theatre, another revelation has emerged that is also likely to have audiences feeling great anticipation.

Constellations, the Royal Court Theatre production that ran at the Duke of York’s Theatre in 2012, is set to make a return to the West End in 2015, this time with an appearance at Trafalgar Studios 1 in Whitehall.

A romantic story that deals with free will in a quantum universe, Constellations introduces us to the couple Roland and Marianne, played by Joe Armstrong and Louise Brealey. We witness their first meeting with one another and explore the myriad outcomes of this encounter. It is described as heartbreaking as we explore the endless possibilities of this Love Story.

The play was penned by Nick Payne and it appeared at the Royal Court prior to its West End appearance later the same year. It has proven a big success and has found many fans whenever it has offered up theatre tickets.

Actor Joe Armstrong has appeared in a wealth of stage productions across the United Kingdom, including as part of the current tour of Constellations. Prior to Nick Payne’s play, he has also appeared in Miss Julie at the Royal Exchange, Manchester, Flare Path at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, The Empire at the Royal Court Theatre and Orphans at the Traverse, Edinburgh. Further back, he also appeared in the West End show They Shoot Horses, Don’t They at the Apollo Theatre as part of the National Youth Theatre. Meanwhile, audiences might also recognise his work on the screen, including the BBC television series Robin Hood, plus the shows Public Enemies and The Village.

Whilst the script for Constellations is by Nick Payne, Michael Longhurst returns to direct, following his work in 2012. The production runs at Trafalgar Studios, which houses ss is at its Studio 2 during the same period, from 14th July 2015 (previews from 9th July 2015) to 1st August 2015.
