Kylie to unveil West End musical

Friday, 21st May 2010
Kylie Minogue has confirmed that a West End musical based on her back catalogue is in development.

The Australian pop star said this week that a scriptwriter has already been brought in and that a few storylines are already being worked upon.

However, Kylie admitted that the project is still in its early stages at the moment, as she is currently focusing on promoting her new album Aphrodite.

The 41-year-old, who rose to fame in the soap Neighbours, added that she is also likely to go on tour fairly soon, which could delay the planned musical even further.

"We'll get to it after that," she commented.

"It's early days but it's very exciting."

Kylie, whose hits include I Should Be So Lucky and Can't Get You Out of My Head, has attracted a devoted legion of fans throughout her career, so any musical based on her back catalogue is likely to be a huge hit.

Abba have already enjoyed success with Mamma Mia! - a musical featuring their biggest hits, as have Queen with We Will Rock You.
