Lady Gaga announces extra London date

Wednesday, 2nd Jun 2010
Lady Gaga tickets look set to be snapped up after the singer announced an extra date in Britain.

The 24-year-old is already touring the UK this month, with appearances in Manchester, Sheffield and Belfast.

However, demand for tickets has proved to be so strong that she has added a gig at the O2 Arena to her itinerary.

Lady Gaga, who is best known for her weird and wonderful clothes, as well as hit singles such as Poker Face, will play the London venue on December 16th.

The O2 gig comes in the middle of a jaunt across Europe, which features gigs in countries such as Norway, France, Hungary, Sweden and Belgium.

Lady Gaga came by her moniker after her producer compared her voice to that of the late Queen singer Freddie Mercury.

When he attempted to type the name of Queen's 1984 hit Radio Ga Ga into a text message, an error with the predictive text led to it spelling out Lady Ga Ga instead.

The singer thought this would be a great stage name and quickly adopted it.
