Leona Lewis gets emotional at O2 gig
The 2006 X Factor winner was performing the first of four gigs at the London concert venue on Saturday night.
Despite her four years at the top of the music business, the significance of the gig was not lost on her.
Indeed, she wrote on her Twitter feed that her eyes started filling up with tears when she sang the Snow Patrol song Run.
Lewis said she is glad she has more gigs to do at the O2 Arena, as "it's going to take that to realise I'm actually there".
The singer added that she was "truly feeling the love" during her first gig and thanked everyone who was there to share the night with her.
The O2 gigs form part of a UK tour for Lewis, which also includes stints at the Glasgow SECC, the Belfast Odyssey, the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle and the Cardiff International Arena.
