Les Miserables to be screened in cinemas

Wednesday, 22nd Sep 2010

Fans of Les Miserables who love the production but cannot get to the special gala performance could visit their cinemas instead.

The special 25th anniversary show of the musical set during the French Revolution will be broadcast from London's O2 arena to screens worldwide.

Taking place on October 3rd, the show will feature performances from many of their original London cast, something which is sure to please the production's most ardent followers.

In addition, teen popstar Nick Jonas will be taking part after completing his stint as Marius, while Little Britain performer Matt Lucas will take on the role of Thenardier.

Countries as far away as Australia and Japan are set to screen the shows, while dozens of theatres across the UK, including venues in Derby, St Helens and York, are to show the live footage.

Fans that would prefer to see the show live on stage have the choice of two London theatres at present as both the Barbican and the Queen's Theatre are being used for separate performances.
