Maxwell Added Alongside Craig Kelly and George Georgiou, Among Others from June 2012

Just under two weeks ago it was announced that “Chicken”, a West End premiere from writer Mike Batistick, would be heading to the Trafalgar Studios 2 following the appearance of “Mercury Fur” at the same venue. With the announcement came the news that the show would star Craig Kelly and George Georgiou in lead roles, whilst Sam Neophytou would take on the reins as director. Now more cast members have been announced for the production.

Lisa Maxwell has been cast in the role of Lina and she is also joined by Andy Lucas, Amy Tez and Daniel Yabut.

In “Chicken”, London theatre audiences will be introduced to Wendell (Kelly), his wife Lina (Maxwell) and his friend Floyd (Georgiou). The latter of the three sleeps on the married couple’s sofa and this situation brings with it visitations from an array of unwanted characters, from members of the Bronx that see Floyd as a father figure and Floyd’s own father as well. To make some money the team take on a rooster they are going to train-up to compete in illegal cockfights, but the tensions surrounding them could surrender well before the rooster takes to the ring.

Lisa Maxwell has appeared in a range of television shows over the years though she is best known for her portrayal of Detective Inspector Samantha Nixon on “The Bill” during the last decade. Her other credits include “The Lisa Maxwell Show”, “The Dark Crystal”, “Loose Women” and “The Paul O’Grady Show”. As such she has many years of experience to bring to this West End performance and as a result it should attract the attention of various audience members wanting to pick up theatre tickets.

Co-star Craig Kelly is also familiar to audiences for appearance on shows like “Coronation Street” (as Luke Strong) and films such as “Titanic” and “Spiceworld the Movie”. Director Sam Neophytou is also experienced thanks to a previous play entitled ““Bodega Lung Fat”.

“Chicken” is at Trafalgar Studios 2 from Tuesday 26th June 2012 (previews from Monday 25th June 2012) to Saturday 21st July 2012.
