Mark Strong and Emun Elliott in A View From The Bridge at the Wyndham’s Theatre

Sunday, 14th Dec 2014

Nicola Walker, Phoebe Fox, Michael Gould and Luke Norris Also Appearing in the Production under the Direction of Ivo Van Hove from February

The Young Vic’s production of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge, which appeared at the Lambeth venue in April, is set for a high profile West End transfer. The show will retain its key players from the original run, including well known screen actor Mark Strong, when it transfers to the Wyndham’s Theatre in February 2015.

Ivo Van Hove returns to direct the production that also retains cast members like Emun Elliot, Phoebe Fox, Michael Gould, Luke Norris and Nicola Walker.

The classic story focuses on the character of Edi Carbone (Strong), who lives in Brooklyn and is set for the arrival of his Sicilian family members. He is hopeful of their arrival – after all, America is the land of the free – but it soon becomes clear that these freedoms are going to have a profound effect on his life. One of his cousins falls for Eddie’s niece and what unfolds is a story of mistrust and Betrayal.

Mark Strong needs little introduction, having made a name of himself in recent years for his portrayal of villains in high profile films. His credits include Kick-Ass, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Robin Hood, The Guard, Sherlock Holmes and Zero Dark Thirty, among others. However, he has also carved out a significant presence on the stage, with appearances in the likes of Uncle Vanya and Twelfth Night at the Donmar Warehouse, the latter of which led to a Laurence Olivier Award nomination back in 2003.

Those with theatre tickets will also see another regular screen presence in A View From The Bridge.  Emun Elliot will soon be seen in Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods And Kings, having previously  appeared in the director’s Prometheus, and has other credits to his name such as Filth and the television shows The Paradise, Labyrinth and Threesome.

The current home of King Charles III, the Wyndham’s Theatre welcomes A View From The Bridge from 16th February 2015 (previews from 11th February 2015) to 11th April 2015.
