Michael Ball and Alfie Boe to star in new production of Les Misérables

With the Queens Theatre being refurbished in 2019, audiences can still get their Les Misérables fix while the theatre is closed. Continuing the show’s record-breaking run as the longest-running musical in the West End, Les Misérables will transfer to the Gielgud Theatre for just 16 weeks.

The upcoming production of Les Misérables at the Gielgud will welcome a host of stars back to the West End stage, reprising their performances in some of the most iconic roles in theatre.

Alfie Boe will play the role of Jean Valjean, with Michael Ball as Javert. Carrie Hope Fletcher will play Fantine, with Matt Lucas and Katy Secombe playing Thénardier and Madame Thénardier respectively. ​John Owen Jones will play Jean Valjean for three performances a week.

Les Misérables follows Jean Valjean, once a member of a chain gang, his life changes when he begins to look after Cosette. Set against the backdrop of revolution, it is an enthralling piece of theatre with songs including “Bring Him Home” and “One Day More”.

Seen by over 70 million people worldwide, Les Misérables has earned its place as one of the most successful shows in the West End. Don’t miss out on your chance to see the production at the Gielgud Theatre, playing for just 16 weeks.

Tickets for Les Misérables in concert at the Gielgud Theatre will go on sale at 12noon on 7th February 2019.
