Michael Socha and Tamla Kari in This Is Living at Trafalgar Studios 2

Monday, 21st Mar 2016

Audiences are currently enjoying his portrayal of Lewis in the E4 series The Aliens, but come May Michael Socha will be swapping border guard duties with heated moments in Yorkshire as he appears in Liam Borrett’s This Is Living.

Tamla Kari, best known for her work in The Musketeers, will be playing his onstage partner in the production and they will perform under the direction of Borrett.

The couple at the centre of the story is Michael and Alice and they have plenty to talk about as they find themselves cold and in the middle of a meadow in Yorkshire. It has been six years ago since the two of them met and they even have a daughter together, but now they are having an argument and Alice keeps hearing Michael tell her that she is already dead.

Actor Michael Socha, in addition to appearing in the mentioned The Aliens, has enjoyed a successful career in a range of television shows and films, whilst his stage work includes Glamour at the Nottingham Playhouse. He was seem in the television series This Is England ’86 and its follow-ups This Is England ’88 and This Is England ‘90, whilst also making appearances in shows like Being Human, Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, Silent Witness and Our World War, amongst others. So he has already accumulated a wealth of experience on our screens, so should have plenty to bring to the stage of the Trafalgar Studios.

Tamla Kari has also amassed plenty of credits, with many knowing her for the portrayal of Constance Bonacieux in The Musketeers, plus Lucy on both of the film versions of The Inbetweeners. Like Socha, she also appeared in the television show Being Human.

But now they both make it to the Trafalgar Studios 2 for the premiere of this new show from writer Liam Borrett, who also directs. An interesting play with an intriguing story, it is bound to be something that will attract attention in the West End this summer.

This Is Living is at the Trafalgar Studios from May 2016.
