Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace Bring The Dance Show Back to the West End in the New Year

Audiences may remember that in January they were treated to the dancing of Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace at the Aldwych Theatre. That show was “Midnight Tango” and it went down well with both critics and audiences; so much so that it is now set to return to the West End for a brief run in the New Year.

And it’s location? The Phoenix Theatre, a venue that, until recently, rarely entered the news as little changed between 1989 and 2012 when it was the ongoing home of “Blood Brothers”. However, that show is set to close its doors in November and since then various different shows have been rounded up to fill the space it leaves behind. First of all it will be the turn of “Goodnight Mister Tom” to play at the venue, with “Midnight Tango” following in February (Broadway hit “Once” is then rumoured to follow in March).

“Midnight Tango” is set to celebrate all things tango as we relocate to downtown Buenos Aires and witness Simone and Cacace alongside a range of other talented dancers. Together the aim is to portray the drama and elegance of the tango. Considering these dancers are from around the world this should prove to be an impressive feat for fans of dance in the West End.

Both Simone and Cacace are well known dancers who have appeared on the hit BBC series “Strictly Come Dancing”. Together they have accumulated many titles, which are certain to be of interest to those thinking of picking up theatre tickets. For example they were the Negracha Club UK Argentine Tango Champions of 2006, whilst also being the finalists of the IDO World Argentine Tango in 2005/2006.

In addition to various series of “Strictly Come Dancing” they have also appeared in various other shows, from “Children in Need” and “Richard & Judy” to “The Magicians”, among others.

“Midnight Tango” takes up residence at the Phoenix Theatre from Monday 4th February 2013 (previews from Wednesday 30th January 2013) to Saturday 23rd March 2013, prior to a national tour.
