The Makers of The Play That Goes Wrong Presents a Christmas Production in the West End

Fans of The Play That Goes Wrong will have another reason to head to the West End this Christmas as the Mischief Theatre, the company behind that Duchess Theatre hit, present Peter Pan Goes Wrong at the Apollo theatre from December.

The new show will appear whilst The Play That Goes Wrong continues at the Duchess Theatre, so both shows will be available in the capital over the Christmas season. In fact, The Play That Goes Wrong has also announced an extension to Sunday 11th December 2016.

Peter Pan Goes Wrong returns us to the exploits of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society and anyone that has seen The Play That Goes Wrong will known that mishaps are just around the corner as they attempt to put on a production of Peter Pan, with technical issues, cast problems and more threatening to pull the whole thing apart.

Adam Meggido (who also entertains audiences with Showstoppers! The Improvised Musical at the Apollo Theatre prior to the arrival of Peter Pan Goes Wrong) directs the show, with a script by Henry Shields, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Lewis. The cast that then brings this to life onstage includes Shields, Sayer, Lewis, Nancy Wallinger, Greg Tannahill, Charlie Russell and Dave Hearn.

Adam Meggido, as well as co-creating Showstoppers! The Improvised Musical, is a well known improve performer and a writer of plays and musicals. He created the London 50-Hour Improvathon and also put pen to paper on the lyrics from The Tailor Made Man at the Arts Theatre.

The original The Play That Goes Wrong has been an enormously well-received production ever since it opened at London’s Old Red Lion Theatre back in 2012. It has since been seen at the Trafalgar Studios and transferred to its current home of the Duchess Theatre in September of last year, winning critical acclaim and a Laurence Olivier Award for its troubles.

As that now takes bookings to December 2016, whilst Peter Pan Goes Wrong runs at the Apollo Theatre from Friday 4th December 2015 to Sunday 31st January 2016.
