New Cast Members Join the Long Running West End Musical from November 2013

Wicked finds itself back in the spotlight today as it is revealed that somewhat of a cast overhaul is taking place, with an array of new performers joining the cast of the long running musical from November. They include Savannah Stevenson, Sue Kelvin, Jeremy Taylor and Paul Clarkson and they join performers such as Willemijn Verkaik, Sam Lupton and Katie Rowley Jones, among others. The production is running at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, where it originally opened back in September 2006.

Wicked is a prequel story to The Wizard Of Oz and focuses on two characters who meet one another and eventually becoming enemies. One of them is Glinda, the beautiful and popular girl in school, and the other is Elphaba, the ugly and book smart girl in school. What begins as a playground rivalry eventually spills over into all of Oz as the former grows up to be Glinda the Good Witch and the latter Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West.

Savannah Stevenson has appeared in various shows over the years, with credits that include Aspects of Love at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, Gone With The Wind at the New London theatre and, most recently, Chariots of Fire at the Gielgud Theatre. Audiences with theatre tickets might also recognise her from television work that has included Playing The Field and Casualty, among others.

Meanwhile, Sue Kelvin has also appeared in various shows over the years. Prior to arriving at the Apollo Victoria Theatre her credits have included Travelling Light and A Streetcar Named Desire at the Lyttelton National Theatre, as well as Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre, Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre, Private Lives at the Gielgud Theatre, Fiddler On The Roof at the Savoy Theatre, Oliver! at the London Palladium and Assassins at the Donmar Warehouse. She also has television credits that include Doctors, Doctor Who and Silent Witness, among others.

Wicked continues its run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and is currently booking to Saturday 26th April 2014.
