Sheridan Smith announced for Flare Path play

Thursday, 27th Jan 2011

Sheridan Smith is to take on a role in the Flare Path play that is to open in the West End later this year.

Smith, who is coming to the Terence Rattigan production fresh from her acclaimed performance in Legally Blonde, is to star opposite the previously revealed cast members Sienna Miller and Trevor Nunn.

James Purefoy, who is best known for his role in the TV series Rome, has also been announced as a member of the cast for when the show opens for previews at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on March 4th 2011.

The play, based on Rattigan's experiences in the RAF during the Second World War, will officially open to people with London theatre tickets on March 10th and run until June 4th.

It tells the story of Patricia, played by Miller, who is forced to make the choice between two very different men in the shape of her RAF bomber pilot husband Teddy and a famous film star.
