Bat Out of Hell The Musical - Dominion Theatre

Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical, which continues to entertain audiences at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End, will add another reason for eager fans to head to the Tottenham Court Road venue this year. Beginning with a show in late August audiences will be invited to sing along for special performances, with a surtitle screen provided for theatregoers needing a helping hand.

The special performances will take place on Tuesday 28th August 2018, Tuesday 25th September 2018, Wednesday 31st October 2018 (a Halloween version where audiences will be invited to dress-up), Tuesday 27th November 2018 and Monday 31st December 2018 (a New Year’s Eve version where audiences will again be invited to play dress-up).

Bat Out of Hell The Musical is based on the famous Meat Loaf album of the same name, which was co-written by the show’s creator Jim Steinman. Songs from that album and its follow-up Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell are incorporated into the production, which transports audiences to a post-apocalyptic future; a wasteland in which the characters of Strat and Falco reside.

Strat has just fallen for Falco’s daughter and this will have huge ramifications for him as Falco is the despotic ruler of the land. Their struggle makes way for renditions of songs like It’s All Coming Back To Me Now, You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth, Dead Ringer For Love and I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That), amongst others. It is those songs and more that will invite participation from audiences as the year progresses, undoubtedly adding to an unforgettable experience.

The show’s Associate Director, Nick Evans, commented on the new announcement, saying “Bat Out of Hell – The Musical has brought the legendary music of Jim Steinman to the heart of the West End.

“It’s become clear just how much these songs mean to people.  Our Singalong Nights will be a celebration of that; a chance for our energetic, passionate audiences to be a step closer to our talented cast.

“These unique performances promise to become very sought after ....a night at the theatre, a party and a rock concert all in one!”

The production continues at the venue, where it has had its run extended on a couple of occasions so that it is now booking to Saturday 5th January 2019.
