Siobhan Dillon and Natalie Mendoza in Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre

New Cast Members Announced for the Ongoing Production in London’s West End

The ongoing production of Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre will see some changes take place in May as a host of big names are announced for some of its iconic roles.

The show is one of the more popular recent productions to open in the West End in recent years and this is in part thanks to its lasting reputation, which is in place thanks to its original run at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 1989 to 1999. With this in mind the enjoyed a special gala performance in September 2014 to mark its 25th anniversary, joining shows like The Phantom of the Opera to mark such milestones.

Its new cast will ensure that the show stays fresh as it continues throughout 2015. It includes Siobhan Dillon in the role of Ellen alongside Natalie Mendoza as Gigi, Chris Peluso as Chris and Sangwoong Jo as Thuy, all starring with the continuing cast members Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer, Hugh Maynard as John and Eva Noblezada as Kim.

Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby’s famous musical takes its cues from Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, relocating the action to the Vietnam War, where we meet the nightclub worker Kim and the American GI, John, with whom she is going to fall in love. What begins as John’s attempts to purchase her services for the evening instead turns into an unexpected romance.

Along the way, songs include This Is The Hour, I Still Believe Him, The Morning Of The Dragon and Fall Of Saigon, amongst many others.

Siobhan Dillon joins the production, having appeared in numerous previous west end shows over the years. Perhaps best known for her appearance in the TV show How Do You Solve A Problem  Like Maria? she has since appeared in the likes of Legally Blonde The Musical at the Savoy Theatre, Ghost The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre and Cabaret on a UK tour.

She joins Miss Saigon, along with the other new recruits, on Monday 11th May 2015. The production is currently booking to Saturday 19th December 2015.
