Sir Paul rocks the White House
The music legend was at the White House this week to receive the Gershwin Prize for popular song from US President Barack Obama.
He later performed some of his best-loved songs, including Hey Jude and Got To Get You Into My Life, in front of an audience in the East Room.
Sir Paul also achieved a personal ambition by performing Michelle, which appeared on The Beatles' 1965 album Rubber Soul, to First Lady Michelle Obama.
"By its very definition, pop music is fleeting," the president commented.
"Rarely is it composed with an eye toward standing the test of time and that's what makes Paul's career so legendary."
Sir Paul, who later scored hits such as Live and Let Die and Mull of Kintyre with Wings, will soon be undertaking a brief UK tour.
This includes a headlining appearance at Hard Rock Calling on June 27th.
