The Live Comedy Favourites Return to the Capital, After Many Years Away, from June 2011

The comedy troupe The Flying Karamazov Brothers are set to return to the UK in June for a new run of their popular juggling and comedy performances. It will only be running for a limited amount of time, so London theatre audiences will have from June to September to pick up Theatre Tickets to get in on the action. But there is likely to be popular interest as it is the first time the performers have appeared in the capital for almost twenty years.

“The Flying Karamazov Brothers” first got together in the early 1970s and have since been performing on an international stage with a show that mixes comedy, music and other physical feats. They first met in California and took their name from the novel “The Brothers Karamazov” by Dostoevsky and over the years the membership has evolved and changed. They point out they do not fly, they are not really Russian and nor are they brothers, but that hasn’t stopped them from becoming enormously popular under the banner “The Flying Karamazov Brothers” on both sides of the Atlantic.

Over the years they have been behind various different shows that have incorporated many styles and methods, giving them numerous performances on Broadway (where they have been performing for the past year) and also appearances on television. Perhaps the best way of describing their show is as a variety performance that presents live comedy to an audience and elevates it to a new level. So the show could be suitable for anyone that has enjoyed the sights and sounds of comedy acts like Monty Python and even cabaret acts like “La Soiree” (“La Clique”) over the years.

The show arrives in the capital as the current production on the stage of the Vaudeville Theatre, “In A Forest Dark And Deep” continues its run to June. It appears during a time in which the capital continues to showcase new shows like “Shrek The Musical” and other productions like “Derren Brown: Svengali” at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

The Flying Karamazov Brothers return to the West End with a run at the Vaudeville Theatre from Monday 20th June 2011 (previews from Thursday 9th June 2011) to Saturday 10th September 2011.
