The Horne Section show 'combines comedy and jazz'

Thursday, 17th Feb 2011

Theatregoers looking for something unusual could try attending The Horne Section show, for an interesting take on stand-up comedy.

Taking place at the Lyric Theatre on the famous Shaftesbury Avenue, the production is fronted by funnyman Alex Horne, who has previously appeared at the Edinburgh Festival.

While the show focuses on an evening of comedy, it has the twist of being backed up by a jazz band featuring a trumpet, sax, double bass and keyboard.

To get the proceedings going, the Independent recently wrote that Horne warms up with a series of games like Battleships, which sees two people with London theatre tickets plucked from the audience to take part.

A variety of different performers will then take to the stage, with the newspaper noting that these range from a ukulele band to a rapper-turned-comedian.

Those who are intrigued by the show's concept have until March 28th 2011 to attend and experience the unique production for themselves.
