The Rat Pack Live From Vegas Returns to the West End with a Run at Theatre Royal Haymarket

The Rat Pack - Live from Las Vegas - Theatre Royal Haymarket

Cast your minds back a few years and you might remember a fairly regular visitor to the West End was The Rat Pack – Live From Vegas, which also sometimes appears over the festive season as Christmas With The Rat Pack.

Well fans who have noticed its absence in the last couple of years (it previously played in 2014) will breathe a sigh of relief at the end of 2017 as this celebration of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. is set to return to the West End with a run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Much like another show that plays in the West End in 2017 – Lady Day At Emerson’s Bar And Grill – The Rat Pack invites audiences to step back in time to witness a performance as though you were there in the era. In this case it is the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and the era is the early 1960s.

Judging by the success of previous appearances in the capital, audiences cannot get enough of this setting as they are serenaded with some popular songs by lifelike impersonators, from That’s Amore during the regular programming to Let It Snow Let It Snow during Christmas With The Rat Pack.

Back in the day, the Rat Pack took on many different forms, though it was the aforementioned Sinatra, Martin and Davis Jr. incarnation that is the most famous. Together they sang in Las Vegas regularly, though they also made films together and told stories so that today they are remembered as iconic figures.

Whilst that was the most famous incarnation of the Rat Pack, the group was also known to include the likes of Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford and Humphrey Bogart, amongst others. Together they would throw wild parties and garnered a hefty reputation.

But more than 50 years later we continue to celebrate their work and now it returns again to the West End, with The Rat Pack – Live From Vegas playing the Theatre Royal Haymarket from Wednesday 13th December 2017 to Saturday 3rd February 2018. Dates from the start of the run to Saturday 6th January 2018 will include Christmas songs.
