Tom Chambers in White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre

Thursday, 19th Jun 2014

It is not often that news emerges of a new show opening at the Dominion Theatre as this is the location that has called We Will Rock You its home since 2002. However, this year it was announced that the enormously popular Queen musical will be closing its doors and now we have the first announcement of a show set to follow it.

White Christmas, with Tom Chambers and Aled Jones reprising their work from previous touring productions, is set to land at the Dominion Theatre in November and will continue over the Christmas period. It will be the West End debut of a musical that has already been seen on Broadway and in regional venues across the United Kingdom.

In White Christmas we meet two characters who take on a big task to save a Vermont ski lodge. The duo – Bob Wallis (Jones) and Phil Davis (Chambers) - were previously in the army and their general at the time is the owner of the mentioned lodge, which is struggling financially and needs help. So they team up with some sisters and put on a show.

Along the way, audiences with theatre tickets will hear renditions of songs like I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm, How Deep Is The Ocean, Let Yourself Go and the title track White Christmas.

Tom Chambers is perhaps best known for his appearance in series 6 of Strictly Come Dancing, though he has also enjoyed a successful acting career which has ranged from hit shows like Holby City and Waterloo City to the successful stage musical Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre. In addition to Chambers and Jones, the cast also includes Louise Bowden as Judy, Graham Cole as General Waverley, Wendi Peters as Martha and Rachel Stanley as Betty.

We Will Rock You closed last month at the Dominion Theatre and the venue is now set to be refurbished. Then audiences will be able to see Tom Chambers and Aled Jones in White Christmas from Wednesday 12th November 2014 (previews from Saturday 8th November 2014) to Saturday 3rd January 2015.
