War Horse

War Horse will return for six weeks in 2019 at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, marking the first production at the north London venue.

War Horse tells the story of Albert, a young man whose horse Joey is sold to World War One cavalry and shipped to France. Wanting to be reunited with his beloved animal, Albert sets off to the front line in order to bring his home. But, Albert and Joey must navigate life-threatening moments in battle to return safely to British shores.

The critically-acclaimed adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 book was first staged at the National Theatre in 2007, later transferring to the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 2009 to 2016. With touring productions around the world, the story of Albert and Joey has been seen by nearly 8 million people.

War Horse features puppets directed, designed and made by the Handspring Puppet Company, with Toby Sedgwick choreographing the iconic equine movements.

The upcoming revival will be the inaugural production staged at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Located on the former grounds of Fountain Studios, the theatre will offer flexible staging and seating arrangements to suit any production.

War Horse tickets will be available soon.
