Strictly Come Dancing Stars Bring Dance Show to the West End from March to September 2013

There have been announcements for a lot of dance shows in recent weeks with “Midnight Tango” announced for the Phoenix Theatre and “Tango Fire – Flames of Desire” revealed for the Peacock Theatre (the latter being the West End’s home for dance). Now there’s another to add to the list as “Burn The Floor” is unveiled for the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2013, with some of the stars of “Strictly Come Dancing” set to appear.

In “Burn the Floor” the focus is on all things dance, with everything from the Rumba to the Foxtrot given attention. To do this three of the stars of “Strictly Come Dancing” will be employed – Robin Windsor, Kristina Rihanoff and Karen Hauer – as well as an array of international dancers plucked from all corners of the world. So like the other dance shows mentioned above, this should prove to be something that dance fans will enjoy in the New Year.

Kristina Rihanoff is a world renowned dancer who joined “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2008 following previous appearances in “Dancing With the Stars”. Prior to her television career she had taken part in various championships and made a name for herself that way, from the American Rhythm RS National Champion in 2004 to the South African National Latin Championship in 2006, she has made her mark all over the world.

Robin Windsor is another big name on the dance scene, which should ensure he is a big hit with London theatre fans. He appeared in “Burn the Floor” when it appeared around the country earlier in the last decade and this led to previous appearances in the West End and in the United States. He joined “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2010, which saw him dance alongside celebrity partner Patsy Kensit.

The Shaftesbury Theatre is currently the home of “Rock Of Ages” until February. The high profile musical has been at the venue since last September. “Burn the Floor” will then take over from Monday 11th March 2013 (previews from Wednesday 6th March 2013) to Sunday 1st September 2013.
