Yes, Prime Minister to go on UK tour

Tuesday, 30th Nov 2010

The new stage version of Yes, Prime Minister is to go on a national tour next year.

Currently being produced in London, the show, based on the TV programme of the same name, will open in Brighton's Theatre Royal on February 3rd 2011.

It will then delight audiences with its satirical tale of a prime minister heading a coalition government during an economic crisis in cities including Bath, Plymouth and Aberdeen, before finishing in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in the summer.

The production, which is currently being performed at the Gielgud Theatre, will close on January 15th 2011, although extra shows have been added for the festive period.

Prime minister Jim Hacker and cabinet secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby have been recast for the tour, with David Haig and Henry Goodman set to be replaced by Simon Williams and Richard McCabe.

The production has enjoyed a successful West End run, after receiving rave reviews when it opened on September 16th 2010.
