Dorfman - National Theatre
National Theatre, Upper Ground
Ground South Bank, London
SE1 9PX
Formerly known as the Cottesloe Theatre, the Dorfman Theatre has been redeveloped, allowing for greater staging meaning no two productions are quite the same.
With a capacity of up to 450 people, the flexible seating system can be raised or lowered to assist with the vision for a production.
On three sides of the room there are two levels, the circle and gallery, which look down on the pit. Performances can be staged in a conventional format at one end; in “traverse”, lengthways or across the space; or in the round.
